New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) Jon Landau, co-producer of 3-D sci-fi epic ‘Avatar’ that won three Oscars including one for visual effects, has praised Lowry Digital, a subsidiary of Reliance Media Works Ltd, for enhancing live-action scenes in the film for the golden gong.

‘Lowry Digital’s innovative digital image processing helped us create the wholly immersive world that Jim (director James Cameron also co-producer of the movie) imagined. We brought Lowry in to clean up and enhance live-action scenes where necessary, allowing us to present 3-D images with unprecedented quality,’ Landau, COO at Cameron’s Light storm Entertainment and producer of ‘Avatar’, said in a statement.

‘Avatar’, the most successful film in history with more than $2 billion in ticket sales, bagged golden statuettes for art direction and cinematography apart from visual effects.

Cameron and Landau asked Lowry Digital to adapt and apply new image processing techniques than existing under tough time constraints for ‘Avatar’. With very little time at hand, the company established a special 24×7 pipeline of data technicians and image processing experts and worked non-stop through the final two months of the movie.

‘To achieve the truly immersive experience Jim desired for ‘Avatar’, the picture quality bar was set extremely high. But that’s only half the story. In addition to the challenging quality goal, there were so many pixels to process and so little time,’ said Lowry Digital Executive Vice President Mike Inchalik.

Added Anil Arjun, CEO of Reliance Media Works: ‘We are thrilled that Lowry Digital was selected by a true Hollywood visionary like James Cameron for this landmark 3-D film and the success of this creative combination can be witnessed through Avatar’s winning of technical accolades at the Oscars.’

Based in Burbank, California, Lowry Digital is a post-production unit that utilises proprietary image processing science to deliver superior picture elements for a wide range of content owners and producers.

Before ‘Avatar’, Cameron collaborated with the company for his projects including ‘Aliens of the Deep’, ‘Last Mysteries of the Titanic’ and the high-definition home video releases of ‘Terminator’, ‘Aliens’ and ‘True Lies’.

Lowry Digital’s other credits include digital image enhancement of movies like ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ and ‘Zodiac’.

Photos at last strike the Web late yesterday of the much talked about — and almost forgotten — outfits line by Kanye. The Louis Vuitton Don has been plugging his fashion line since his debut album, The College Loafer or Dropout, when he was rocking Jordan VIs, a skin(leather) Louis rucksack and a Polo sweaters — you know, the one with the attractive little bear on it. Fans have waited uncomplainingly, but the only proof of it has been a static Web site and a few pieces that Mr.West has worn at various award shows and red carpets.In spite of the holdup of his own product, Yeezy has been unbelievable active in the fashion world. He has free the Air Yeezys through a partnership with Nike, teamed up with Louis Vuitton to let go a line of high-end, much more luxurious shoes, was affirmed the winner of multifaceted magazine’s Style Wars (an honor Pharrell should’ve won, but I digress) and of course there was Paris Fashion Week back in January.

Trinny and Susannah The British Television Stars have potty mouths, interfere and even jab, but Adelaide women are under their magic charm.

On what was their third call to Adelaide, style gurus Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine yesterday worked their alteration or makeover magic at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza and Marion, plucking everyday women out of the crowd.

In the middle of those charming to the stage at Tea Tree Plaza for a styling session was Klemzig mother-of-three Karen Lark, who, wearing a white oversized blouse, calf-length skirt and sensible shoes, was overwhelmed to meet her idols.

“I want to look like a young lady, not a 40-year-old who is getting older every day,” she said before becoming extinct behind a drape.About 10 minutes later Ms Lark emerged crying tears of joy. Wiping away Ms Lark’s tears, Susannah let tear a curse telling the throng “how amazing” she looked in a figure-hugging jersey print dress and heel. Offstage Ms Lark said she had been an admirer of the Trinny and Susannah TV series What Not To Wear and had come to their live show hoping she would experience some of their tough love and a transformation.

“It’s a miracle…Wow, I can’t believe it’s me,” she said.

But her compilation could make or break the house, which has seen its fortunes turn down since Ungaro retired in 2004. After deafening Taylor Swift’s MTV Video Music Award speech Sunday, Kanye West might be the most unpopular person in show business.

His stunt and following expulsion from the awards show came only a day before the originally intended Monday rollout for the announcement of his “Fame Kills Tour,” which will be co-headlined .

Not a lot hoopla or info about the tour has been free (probably due to Kanye’s PR people trying to move into “damage control” mode), but many of the dates have been silently rolled out, including one South Florida show.

Kanye and Gaga will be performing at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami on Dec. 9.

Early reports in July got the correct date for the tour in South Florida, but had the duo playing in the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise instead).
